JUNKFOOD | 1st Annual Elephant Stomp | Benefiting The Gloria Harris Cancer Fund

DSC_7756

One Week ago today we took part in an event that was close to our heart… “The 1st Annual Elephant Stomp – Benefiting Gloria Harris Cancer Fund”
Many of you may be asking why was this event so important to us and who is Gloria Harris?

Ok let me tell you a bit about Mrs. Gloria Harris……
Mother of one of our DEAREST FRIENDS who is like FAMILY to us, Bart Harris “Singer For the band JunkFood”
Gloria left this world after battling Cancer for many years. The Benefit took place on her birthday, a night full of awesome music dedicated to her.
We were lucky enough to have met Gloria a few times….wow, always full of happiness! So proud of her family, always ready to support Bart’s band by buying up all the JunkFood cds she could fit in her arms.
She also LOVED our photography work! Of course it featured her much loved son Bart many times as a band and also as Family Portraits.
She commented and commented to us as to how much she loved the Family Shoot we did with him.
I’m so glad our work touched her heart.

Now let’s talk about the Event…..
“The Elephant Stomp”
The music: A glimpse of JunkFood that is not seen often, acoustic, dressed to impress, and songs that are rarely and many never heard.
Many covers of songs Gloria loved, as well as touching originals written by Bart as his heart misses his Mom so very much.
Pink Buckets full of Prizes, Pink Tee Shirts, Pink Ties, Pink, Pink, Pink…..with a big Elephant Stomp on each.
Pink, the known Cancer awareness color
Elephant, Gloria loved Elephants
She’d love the Name…as it truly represents her way of “Stomping Out Cancer”

The OutCome……..
Many Tears were shed as Bart Sang his heart out, Many Hugs were shared, Many hearts were heavy and happy all at the same time,
And the beauty of it all is that over $10,000 was raised!!!!
Mrs. Gloria Harris…….. “She’d be Proud Bart” :)
We Love You Bart….Let’s do it all again Next Year

One thing I will never forget is when Amanda handing me her shoes to photograph.
A Purple Pair of Customized Chucks!!
Now, any of you who know “me” know that I live in my Chucks….so needless to say to have a bride wear a Custom Pair of Chucks was super fun!!!

Amanda was beautiful and fun all in one…and Isaac all we asked of him is please do not wear your hair different.
His hair is everything we love, so handsome and unique.

The reception took place at a beautiful Riverfront Estate.
One of the most important photos for Amanda and Isaac was Riverfront. We were a bit worried it wouldn’t happen because of scheduling…but as always,
we made it happen and they were overjoyed.
Another fun thing we will never forget was our very own private table which sat overlooking the river.
Wow what a nice way for us to take a breather, enjoy a great meal and of course old fashion fun of drinking out of a mason jar.
The night was full of dancing, laughter, and just all around fun….almost felt like we had gone back in time.
It was truly one of my favorite receptions ever! Everything was perfect from the music, dancing, people, and just all around feel.
Amanda and Isaac our love goes out to you both and we hope our friendship with you guys will continue to grow

And of course their VIP-Photo-Screening…they were so excited!!!
Our favorite part of our art is seeing the joy in their eyes when seeing their photos for the very first time.
Wow…always such an awesome feeling. We had such a fun evening just hanging out talking and dreaming of trips..that is if I could get myself on a plane! haha

Wow..such a GREAT couple, who we now call OUR FRIENDS!

Brittney, Pete, and the wedding party were so much fun to work with!
Everyone was so laid back, so willing to help us with whatever we needed and just all around great people.
We were even greeted by Brittney’s brother Brian with a golf cart to drive us to the reception site with all our gear.
I totally decided that day I was adopting Brian as my little brother…such an awesome guy..Brittney you are a very lucky girl to have this awesome brother!

This was a special wedding that we will never forget.
We watched a group of friends create a beautiful Wedding and Reception with their own hands and hearts.
It was truly beautiful to watch everything be transformed right before us.
To Suzie, Naomi, and all of the others involved…you guys did an amazing job!
Brittney and Pete..you have found friends in us forever!
All our love to you both
And of course “ERIN it’s a WRAP”

Wedding Katie & Tony

FORMALS007

Katie and Tony are so very sweet, with such a rocker edge.
They asked us when we met them last year to go full force as much as our creative minds would like to go.
We love that our couples trust our artist abilities and outlooks 100%.

Katie was such a beautiful bride and Tony…so handsome and laid back.
We are very proud of their photos and honored to have been a part of their big day.
We hope our friendship continues to grow with them.
As Always

Wedding Suzanne & Travis

A White Wedding in Washington DC!
July 3, 2010

Each and every wedding has something I will never forget within them, of course first and foremost being the couple.
We are truly blessed to get to know the most awesome couples ever!
Suzanne and Travis were no accept ion to the rule.
Such a sweet and fun couple!
Their were two things that were slightly different in their big day.
One = Wyat, their Chocolate Lab. Truly the sweetest and well behaved dog ever!
Two = The Jefferson Memorial in Washington, DC…the picture perfect place for amazing photos.

This was definitely one of those days where we wish we had just a little more time to capture more photos…I mean who wouldn’t right?

Of course this would not be a Snapp-Shot Wedding without “Erin it’s a Wrap”

About a week later, we had their VIP Screening in “the Wrap-Room”
We love every aspect of our job, but the VIP Private Screening is what hits our hearts.
Here we show our couples, friends and family their fusion dvd, their book, and their photos…then of course end the night with “Snapp-it’s a Wrap” shot.
It may be a wrap to the ending of your big day, but it’s just the beginning of a new life together as husband and wife and it’s also a newly found friendship with us!

Wedding Molly & Eddie

Bridgeforth Baby

2011 COUPLE UPDATE!!!
Molly & Eddie welcomed their first born child into the world August 13, 2011
We can’t wait to meet little William Edwin Bridgeforth, V. “Quent.

December 27th, 2009 – The Bridgeforth wedding took place.

Molly and Eddie were such a fun sweet couple. Both looked as if they were there as fashion models modeling wedding attire for the latest fashion magazine. Molly looked so elegant in her lace dress, and Eddie oh so handsome while sporting his tux and of course not to forget the aviators along the way ;)

We had a vision from day one for Molly & Eddie at the piano, one of the most intimate photos we have ever felt

We enjoyed the first half of the afternoon at the George Washington Hotel. Formals were so much fun with both the girls and the guys, the edging, sexy, attitude look that we love was no problem at all for this wedding party!

The ceremony took place at one of the most beautiful churches in Winchester, The First Presbyterian Church. Not only the most beautiful church, but also father of the bride The Rev. Dr. Dan McCoig, is Associate Pastor of the church.

The ceremony was beautiful, now back to the George Washington Hotel for some fun!

Both the McCoigs and the Bridgeforths were so nice to us and seemed truly grateful to have us there as their photographers. We in return were also honored to be a part of the most important day for such a special couple.

As most of you know who keep up with our blog, we love presenting the photos in person with our couples.  Molly and Eddie were so very sweet to TREAT us to DINNER with them. What a NICE SURPRISE! We enjoyed…of course a grilled chicken sandwich. Most of you also know this is the only thing I truly enjoy eating….and Eddie did a great job of searching out the perfect down to earth place to enjoy their company….we hope we can continue to go back here every once in a while with the couple to catch up on things!

After dinner, they invited us back to their home to not only see their photos, dvd, and book…but to meet their oh so very cute puppy named “Jack Pup”, and yet again…many of you know I love love love dogs…so this was also a treat for me.

Molly and Eddie were overjoyed with their photos, said we did an awesome job and couldn’t be happier! This of course is why we do what we do and my favorite part of the job!

Thank you again to Molly & Eddie…may you live Happily Ever After
