-The thing I Will Always Remember:

Is how HOT it was the day of their wedding….record heat to be a matter of fact! I believe it was 104 degrees at 9am!

But wait….yes it was HOT,
but honestly the thing I will always remember is how BEAUTIFUL Meghan was! As I walked into Inn Room where she was getting all dolled up, her long curly locks hung like a water fall of golden locks upon her bare shoulders. Her locks would later be pined up into a beautiful up-do created by the one and only bride!
You see, Meghan has been the make-up artist for our past weddings which she also took part in as their brides maid.
Thanks to Cyndi & Eric, / Jill & Dave!
This also lead her to falling in love with our work! She said from the moment she saw our work, she knew she had to have us :)
It was amazing watching Meghan’s talent as she adorned herself with a pretty painted face and an up-do topped with a vintage birdcage style veil.
Meghan being the “Art Director” for “Greencastle the Film” is truly full of talent!

I will also remember the “Tiffany” blue boxes and shininess throughout.
From Meghan sparkling like a tinseled tree of Tiffany, to the New Blue Boxed Gift that awaited on the Car Seat from Efren (Anyone who knows me, knows I heart Tiffany Jewelry)
Efren rocked….a super-duper High-Five to Efren!

Oh wait there’s yet one more thing I will always remember and that would be Meghan’s artistic centerpieces! Painted Bottles, dripping with Candle Wax and some even painted with meaningful quotes.
She was sweet enough to send us home with some…we will cherish always, as we do with all of our centerpieces our couples share with us.

Well, my “One thing” has turned into “two”…no “four” things I will always remember.
Meghan and Efren….you guys were SO much fun and Rocked every shot!!!

As you can see come rain, come High EXTREME Heat, come shine….We are Artists of Dramatic Images….this is what “We Do” no matter what :)

Also a shout-out goes to Jonathan Austin -Co-Founder/Producer at Ascension Entertainment - Cinematography Director of  “GreenCastle the Film”.….awesome guy!

-The thing I Will Always Remember:

Unfortunately this day of July 3rd, 2011 was hit by a Horrible Storm! The ceremony was to take place outside on the grounds of  Rasberry Plains in Leesburg, VA. With Trees Falling, Guests being Trapped on the entry road, glass breaking out of windows and rain so bad we couldn’t even see out of the windows….needless to say the ceremony was moved indoors.
It was a beautiful ceremony, and Saby couldn’t have looked any prettier!
We wish them lots of love in their marriage

-The Special thing I Will Always Remember:

Calming Jenny Down Pre-Ceremony as she was so nervous and felt so sick on her tummy….
at that moment, my camera went down to my side and my caring side took over.
I helped to breathe calmly and explained that she would be just fine. Sure enough she indeed was just fine.
There was a moment after their big day that I will always remember as well….that moment at their Photo-Screening when Jenny “thanked me” for calming her down.
Now that my friends…. is when our job turns into soooooo much more to us than just a photography job.
We really are there with our couples through everything, as they really do become our friends.

Jenny and Scott’s day was simply breathtaking  at one of the most picturesque places in Winchester:
The Glen Burnie Gardens of the Shenandoah Valley Museum in Winchester, VA
Jenny was stunning, her dress being absolutely gorgeous! It was almost as if she was blanketed in a sea of delicate roses.
Scott oh so handsome and timeless as her sported his suspenders beneath his jacket. Such a beautiful couple, who we now call our friends :)

Of course one of our favorite things to do with our couples who start as clients, and leave as friends is their Photo-Screening in our Gallery
We loved hearing Jenny and Scott’s ahhhh moments as their eye’s met their wedding images for the very first time.
It’s such an amazing moment for us to know they are re-living their day through our eyes….and it’s so much more than could ever imagine.

There is one more AWESOME SURPRISE….but this one for US!!
Jenny and Scott presented us with a little Gift Bag full of Thank You Gifts :)
A Gift Card to The Espresso Bar & Cafe
And a Tiny Wooden TURTLE…you may be asking Why a Turtle and Not A Sharpie Stone/Shell???
The ones who have worked with us know alllllll about us asking you to do “The Turtle” ;)
“The Turtle, another Snapp-Shot Thing to make you all look amazing”
This little wooden Turtle will take his place of honor in our Snapp-Shot Gallery, watch for his very own blog-post soon to come…..

It’s always such an overwhelming surprise for us when our couples think of “us”…So lucky to have couples like you two…thank you both!
We love you both Jenny & Scott and look forward to our Night Out together soon!

LANGLEY AFB OFFICERS CLUB | HAMPTON VIRGINIA | WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY | WHITNEY & BRIAN

Whitney and Brian Said “I do” June 11th, 2011

For each and every wedding Corey and I capture, I write a personal Hand Written journal entry.

This entry takes place within my Little Red-Hearted leather bound Wedding Memory Journal sitting upon my desk.

I’ve now decided to include a piece of this personal journal entry with you as a part of the couple’s blog…….

My Journal Entry always includes one very important thing…….

-The Special thing I Will Always Remember:

The HUGE Storm on Radar that was about to hit Langley Air Force Base in Hampton VA…..me going up to Whitney and Brian asking “do you want to chance one of the best shots ever?”
Their reply,” let’s go for it!”…. Go for it is what we did.
Standing out as the storm was a brewing around us….in the end, “we got the shot” and it’s a moment I will never forget.

There are also many more memories of this wedding that I feel I must share with you.
Ones that touch our heart personally and ones that touched our hearts as we heard the stories behind the images we were creating….

You may remember Whitney and Brian from their Engagement Shoot with us.

Let me take you back to the year of 2005, the year we met Mr. Brian Shanley.
Playing in the band Motive, later known as Honor By August…..who knew SIX years later we would be Capturing the most important day of his life.
It’s been a really fun journey with Brian and Whitney…we’ve shared meaningful talks, awesome shows, and yes even a private moment of him playing in our living room.
The Band Also played a very special song on this very day as a part of their wedding!!
I really can’t even find the right words to express the amount of amazing memories we have made over these past six years with these two very dear friends.
But to know we were able to capture memories frozen in time for Brian and Whitney forever was the most meaningful memory of all for us!

I’d also like to share a tidbit of information behind one of the images we created.
Whitney and Brian’s Wedding Day took place in Hampton, VA near Whitney’s hometown of Gloucester VA.
We had so much fun creating their Formal Images, as we were so lucky to be able to use Langley AirForce Base!
Upon arrival we spotted an old F86 Sabre Jet mounted in the yards of Langley Air Force Base…Of course we were like “wow what a cool canvas for Whitney & Brian’s wedding image”
Never did we IMAGINE the story behind it we were about to be told by Whitney.
This was Whitney’s Grandfather’s plane he flew on a mission over Korea. He was hit by the enemies in the nose of the plane, the glass shattered leaving her grandfather in blindness.
Thankfully his wingman was by his side….nearing the runway he slowly ran out of fuel all while the sun was going down leaving the runway below in total darkness.
Cars, Trucks and anything with lights lit the way for this amazing landing.
It’s a story that gives you chills…almost as if right out of a movie.
So as you see, this Image is not only very cool…but wow what a story right??

But WAIT…there’s more fun facts!!
The only cake cutting we have ever seen that was cut with a saber.
Brian’s uncle a Retired Cavalry Officer in the Army wore this M1902 Officers Ceremonial Saber as a part of his uniform up until the day he retired.
The saber now holds a place of honor within his home and only comes out on special occasions like Family Wedding Cake Cuttings.
Brian and Whitney took great pride in cutting their first piece of cake with this special saber.

Special Surprises of the day : Brian’s Band’s Acoustic Performance at the ceremony and Whitney’s Very Own Song Recording for their First Dance!!

As you can see their day was full of fun facts, meaningful moments, and such amazing stories behind the Images we have created.
We have waiting weeks for the happy couple to return from their honeymoon for their Photo-Screening….which they simply Adored!
We will always remember this very special moment with Brian and Whitney…we love you both.

For All of Our Couples we Give them a Gift of “the-Highlights”….their Highlights of the Day In Motion on Blu-Ray :)

Rebecca’s words exact…

She got both…. all while marrying her best friend…..and her dream day came true.

I will never forget hearing Rebecca say those words.

I will also never forget how nice everyone was to us, Rebecca with her sweet smile and Matt with his thoughtful ways.
Her Mom making sure we sat down to eat a good dinner,

FORT VALLEY VIRGINIA | OUTDOOR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | BECKY & MATT

FORMALS060DSC_3114

Becky and Matt are such a sweet couple!
One of my favorite things about them are the little shy looks they give to one another.
Almost as two teenagers in love. Was a beautiful thing to watch.
Becky had the cutest laugh while posing in her Snapp-Serious-Sexy pose…she’d giggle a bit and then Bam, nailed each shot.

Their wedding was a beautiful backyard vintage type wedding that took place on her parent’s property.
Their day was full of romance, fun, and love.

There are two other fun things I will never forget.
Instead of the traditional Cake being served to guests, they served yummy pies made by Savoir Fare Limited
Their dinner, their pies, all made to perfection!!!

Next fun thing was a “Wilbur” the French Bulldog.
Now any of you who know me well, know that I have a “thing” for dogs and especially “smushy faced” dogs.
I had no idea Becky owned a Frenchie until I found him upon my feet looking up at me as he sat quietly on the carpet.
OMG, I was in heaven…but then I had to quickly snap back into work mode.

Their Photo-Screening was also perfect, they were full of smiles as they relived their day with us.
Only thing that would have been better would have been to have had Wilbur there for me to cuddle. haha
Becky & Matt’s Day….was beautiful and we look forward to continuing our friendship with them.
They are such a sweet couple. Lots of Forever Love to you both!

PICCADILLY BREW PUB | WINCHESTER VIRGINIA | WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY | NATALIE AND ERNIE

FORMALS072DSC_1723

What FUN this wedding was. The First Ever Wedding on the outdoor Boat at Piccadilly Brew Pub in Winchester, VA!
Also one of the biggest and craziest wedding parties we’ve ever worked with. As you can see…it was allot of people to fit on that tiny boat :)

Natalie and Ernie were just as wonderful to work with as they were the first time.
You might remember their Engagement Photos

Natalie with her Sexy Ways and Ernie loving every moment of it.
Needless to say, we never ever had any trouble getting them to do the “Snapp-Sexy-Serious”

We wish them all the best, and can’t wait to continue our friendship with them.
Love them both.

FOUNTAIN HEAD COUNTRY CLUB | HAGERSTOWN MARYLAND | WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY | KIRSTEN AND BEN

FORMALS016DSC_0091

Kirsten and Ben said I do May 15th 2011.
We met Ben and Kirsten after seeing our work we did with a previous 2010 wedding couple “Cyndi & Eric”
Not only did we have the connection of another one of our couples, but we also found out at our first meeting that we had another very important connection…his name is Stewie….LOL, yes we share the love of Family Guy!
That’s the only time I’ve ever been able to write on our notation, they love Family Guy just like us!
Oh the little things that make us smile.

Getting to know Kirsten and Ben has been wonderful. Through the emails, the Facebook Chats, the coffee dates, the chickfila dates, and the simple saying hi…all have been great!
Great friends and great clients to work with.

Now let me take you to their wedding day….
We may have had rain, but what a blessing it was because it made for beautiful indoor images.
Kirsten, Ben, their wedding party, and their family were all so nice and as you can see they were all beautiful!
We loved every single moment of their day and wouldn’t have changed a thing.

Their Photo-Screening was also very unique in it’self. We frantically texted back in forth throughout their drive to our place because we were under a tornado warning! Funny thing is, the storm was forgotten the moment they set eyes on their wedding day images. It was an amazing thing to see. We watched their eyes light up as soon as they saw the first image on the big screen. Once again it was a perfect time with them.
We look forward to our friendship growing with them now and always!
Congrats to Kirsten and Ben!!

LONGS FARM | EDINBURG VIRGINIA | WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY | SARA AND DAN

FORMALS057DSC_8833

Sara and Dan…… “theWedding”
I will never forget the first time working with Sara and Dan at their Engagement Shoot. Sara tells us, I don’t think I can do the Snapp-Shot “Sexy-Serious” face.
I turned to her and said, I have no doubts in my mind that you can do this and that you will nail every shot.
It took her one shot to get warmed up to our cameras and from that shot on Sara and Dan both Rocked the Camera…typically nailing each on the first shot!
You might remember “theEngagement”

Sara and Dan are SO much fun to be around! Always laughing, always making cute little Sara-Noises, and so thoughtful towards us.
I’d also like to talk about their family and friends.
From the moment we met their family they made us feel like “part of the family”
So welcoming, so down to earth, so willing to make things easier on us, and always full of smiles.
Driving around the farm with Jim/Sara’s Dad, Dan and Corey is a memory I will never forget as we picked out every perfect photo location.
Now to Sara and Dan’s friends…one word – fabulous!
Everyone was so nice, so fun, and ready to rock the pose up until the wee hours that night!
We really hated to say good-bye to any of them.

Let me share a bit about “theWedding”
The location couldn’t have been any more beautiful.
Rolling Mountains, Carpety Green Grasses, Beautifully Landscaped Grounds, and their Family Home was also Picture-Perfect for Sara to get ready in.
Taking place at Sara’s Parents Turkey Farm Edinburg, VA
Sara even adorned a turkey feather in her hair as a tribute to this beautiful place.

Following the ceremony of course was Photo-Time with US!
We already had a pre-game plan since we had marked out the grounds of the family property with Sara’s Dad and Dan
So OFF we went! WE MUST beat the Rain we all said to one another as Dan frantically drove us 4wheel style throughout the humpity-bumpy non-road grounds! haha
We started with one of the beautiful rolling hills…what you can’t see or hear are all of our worries of ticks, snakes, and yes as Sara would say CowPies.
Despite all of the little worries, romance won out on these shots…as you can see.
We of course would not be happy until we got a fun shot of Dan being Dan and Singing his Heart out to Sara!
This is also a really special shot because the guitar being played in the image was Sara’s Brother’s Jasons…who sadly we all said good bye to December of 2010.
Next, the place Sara and Dan call the Snake House. An old House Hidden deep within the property…perfect for the edgy style we love.
Wrapping up the shoot with of course the fun style that would follow up to the engagement outhouse shot…”you are home” shot.
We found the cutest little red cabin, also hidden deep within their property..perfect for the “you are home” shot, as you can see their nailed the expressions we requested :)
And it’s a Wrap….as soon as we hopped back in the vehicle, the rains began to fall.

The Ceremony was full of reflections of Sara and Dan

From their dog Hank “theTank” serving as one of their ring bearers as he ever so non-gently pulled Maid of Honor Tara Marcus down the isle, to their love of music that played throughout by artists Matt and Kara Davis and readings throughout.

Ending this perfect day with the Reception.

One word…FUN!
The reception was under an awesome tent full of chandelier lighting, even having a special chandelier Sara grew up Dreaming of Hanging above her bed.
Now that it has made it’s presence at her wedding, it will indeed hang above her bed.
The Night was full of awesome Music by the Band Souled Out and Mr. Dan Anderson himself as he serenaded Sara with a special song.
This day of May 7th, 2011 Sara and Dan “theWedding” was truly perfect in our eyes and it was an honor to have been a part of it.
Jason Long was missed very much on this day, but he was there throughout the day in all of our hearts as Ms. Alesia represented him so very well.
