Oh Jenni & John, so sweet, so loving, and so simply cute!
All of the above is what made us realize their engagement shoot needed something to bring all of the above.
The sweetness of the field of yellow,
The cuteness of Jenni as she almost swam through the ocean of yellow,
The love for one another as they stood looking among the beautiful field of yellow!

We had so much fun with Jenni and John,
from a field of yellow flowers, to riverside relaxing and mountain top views…
we did a little of everything with them and couldn’t have asked for a better day!

We can’t wait for their wedding day!
We also can’t wait to watch our friendship grow with this amazing couple

A Chicken, a Canoe, and a Couple toooooo!
Yep, this Engagement Shoot tops the Snapp-Charts as one of the most fun yet!
Amber and Tyler are so sweet, so much fun, and so down to earth living on their small farm in Strasburg, VA.

We always like to ask our couples, what are some things you two like to do??
Amber and Tyler’s answers were well we like Canoeing, we like our farm animals, and of course they love one another.
Is that too many things? Why of course not…we’ve got this. Sure enough we were able to capture all of their “loves” within one shoot.
Starting with Ms. Chicken Little, yes that would be their pet Chicken.
But wait, this would not be us if we didn’t ask them to wear their fanciest of clothes to feature Ms. Chicken Little.
And then you get, our vision…..

Next, on to the River we shall go.
We are so proud of these images and so proud of Amber and Tyler for being such troopers.
My only regret is I didn’t get behind the scene shots of what it took to get these awesome images…maybe you can visualize for yourself?…..

Ending the day back on the farm with some good old fashion farm fun.
Featuring their dog Porter who was a perfect model and their three cows.

Last but not least Amber treated us to some HOME MADE Apple PIE!!!!
When can I ever say we have been treated with home made apple pie after a shoot???
It was the most amazing apple pie we have ever tasted.

Now I will end by telling you the craziest part of this shoot.
Ms. Amber MADE her Engagement Dress herself.
Yes ladies and gentlemen, we explained what type of look and feel we wanted in a dress and her response to me was….
“ok I can make that”
Ummmmmm can we say oh so talented and oh so beautiful.
Both Amber and Tyler are beautiful people not only on the outside, but the inside too.
We feel so lucky to call them our new friends and can’t wait for their wedding in October!
Oh and YES, that is ME holding a LIVE Chicken!!! First time ever

A beautiful Sunny Day in the month of March in the oh so cuteness of Alexandria VA!
It’s always a day of wonder when we haven’t met the couple before. We’ve met Johnny times before within the music scene, but this was our first time to meet Katie.
We arrived to find Johnny full of energy like a jack in the box! haha, it was so awesome.
Katie, a little shy, a little nervous, and oh so beautiful. Needless to say she warmed up very quickly and worked the camera like a Vogue Model!
Seriously, look for yourself….this couple is stunning!
Not only are they stunning, but their loved shined as they called one another “Lovey” throughout the day.
Every time I heard this, it brought a smile to my face.
We can’t say enough how much fun we had working with them.
Our love goes out to you both Katie and Johnny….Now it’s time to enjoy your “scratch and sniff” images

Emily and Eric were SO much fun!!!
It was like a day out in the country with two awesome friends.
We all just kicked back,
washed some vintage dishes with lots and lots of bubbles,
took a country walk, played with the dogs,
and ended the day roasting marshmallows in the campfire!
Can’t say we have ever put down the cameras and kicked back to roast marshmallows at the end of a shoot before
We love this couple to pieces and can’t wait for our friendship to grow with them…and of course can’t wait for their big day when they say I DO in August of 2012

OATLANDS PLANTATION LEESBURG VIRGINIA | ENGAGEMENT STORY | RAT ROD | EVELYN & STEVE

One cold rainy night, Evelyn and Steve set out to dance the night away at the Oatlands Plantation Grand Gala.
Little did they know miles away from home their beloved Rat Rod would decide to go no further on this grand adventure.
The harder Steve worked on the car, the harder the rain began to fall.
Meanwhile Evelyn tried to wait oh so patiently, but just knowing time was ticking by and the gala would go on with or without them just about broke her heart.

Luck was just not on their side that night. Evelyn and Steve decided their only chance of making it to the Grand Gala at Oatlands would be to walk.
Making a Quick change over of clothes that would be a bit more comfy,
they decided to leave their beloved Rat Rod alongside the road and continue their journey by foot to the Oatlands Plantation.

Hand in Hand they walked….and walked….and walked until the sun came up before their eyes, there within the misty morning stood the beautiful Oatlands Plantation!
It was more beautiful than they had ever imagined! Sadly they realized they had missed the gala, missed dancing the night away.
Steve handed Evelyn their overnight bag which contained the most simple little black dress, wiped a tiny tear from her cheek, and said “May I have this Dance?”
Dancing in the gardens of the misty morning, realizing love needs not fancy dances, love simply needs two hearts beating as one.

As I end this story of love, it would not be Evelyn and Steve without a little “action” thrown in.
Their dancing came to a sudden halt as they heard footsteps and the voice of the the Inn Keeper shouting…”Who’s There?!?!”
Hand in Hand they ran off and made a “Jump for It”

Oh my goodness….how much fun are Brittney and Shane?!?! We absolutely LOVED this couple!
Their Engagement shoot was the first time meeting them in person, and we all hit it off right away.

The funny thing about this shoot is we almost called it off because of the killer storms on the way, instead Brittney and Shane decided to “go for it”
We went for it and so glad we did, as you can see the skies were amazing!

We could tell they were fun, edgy, and of course in love.
Working with all three of these things is always so much fun for us!
We asked Brittney if she was “BRAVE ENOUGH” to just “HOLD ON”….
her reply was “OF COURSE”…and she nailed the “HOLD ON TIGHT” SHOT!!!

We have shared many special moments with Jim,
so needless to say being the chosen photographer’s for Megan and Jim’s Engagement and Wedding means more to us than words could ever express.

Their Engagement shoot took place at Linden Vineyards.
The day was full of fun, love, laughter, and just an all around perfect shoot that felt more like a fun day hanging with our two friends who are oh so very dear to us!
They are the cutest couple and their love truly shines within every image.

To our surprise Megan and Jim treated us to Wine, Cheese, and some fun Down-Time after the shoot that evening.
Such a perfect ending to a perfect shoot.
We love Megan and Jim so very much and can’t wait till their big day!!

ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY MARY AND JOHN OLDTOWN ALEXANDRIA VIRGINIA

We met Mary and John through another one of our couples Sara and Dan.
Mary being friend’s with Sara fell in love with her Engagement Photos we did and said she knew right away she HAD to have US!
We fell in love with Mary and John the moment we met them at their consultation.
The love they have for one another is simply breathtaking! Almost fairy tale like as they both tear up the moment they look at one another.
They are also two of the kindest people I’ve ever met in my life.
Words can’t even start to say how much Corey and I adore this couple.
They are such joy to be around, such great energy, such love, and we are so honored to now call them not only one of our “couples, but also our “friends”

Their shoot took place in Alexandria VA, a place they love very much. They have shared many special moments together here.
We had to fight with a bit of rain the day of their shoot…but it was quite alright because that just gave us a bit of bonding time together.
We can’t thank them enough for filling our day of work with sooooo much more memories than just a day of work for us.
Mary and John will say “I DO” October of this year and we can’t wait to be a part of their big day.

LIESEL & LARS | VINTAGE ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY | MIDDLEWAY, WEST VIRGINIA

I will never forget the connection we had from day one with these two! Liesel was giddy with excitement over having “the Snapps” create her images. Just seeing her excitement made us even more excited to work with this couple. Since that day we feel we have gotten to know them even more, over dinner, over emails, and now over this fantastic E-Shoot!! They were so much fun to work with. As a couple they are very old fashion, loving vintage items…Lars even taking part in Civil War Reenactments. Much to our surprise, Liesel pulled out one set of very modern/rock’n attire!! We were blown away and instantly changed our direction of thought, direction of lighting and went full force modern on one set. She asked to go out of her element and we were of course able to take her there…they both rocked the edge that lives deep within them. Ending the shoot once again with us going back in time a bit We love L&L very much and can’t wait to spend their wedding day with them!

A bit of “down-time” with Liesel and Lars were moments we will CHERISH always!
Showing us around the Farm, Serving us Wine in Old Fashion Mason Jars, and Ending the Evening with Lars Playing us a Few Tunes!
Ahhhhhh such simple fun, that was one of our most peaceful cherished times this year.
